"Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it" David confesses:
Thou hast searched me, and known me.
Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
Such is the praise of the Psalmist of Israel for "the high and lofty One that inhabits eternity" (cf. Isa 57:15), and His wonderful knowledge. All things "begin" with the Father's quintessential knowledge that transcends eternity. Far more than foreknowledge of things yet to be — "The high and lofty One whose name is Holy" simultaneously "inhabits" every moment of the continuum of eternity from the beginning unto the end. As he listens to David's confession, my typing echoes in the background. Yet, in the multidimensional fabric of eternity, time is but one of an infinite array of other dimensions — in this Psalm, He inhabits every one!
Out of the "darkness upon the face of the deep," his "foreknowledge" as the light of "the first day" illumined the "foreknown" objects of his lovingkindness.
